Indian Ladies association hosted a Grand Gabgha night on the eve of Ramadan. It was a great honor and pleasure to have H.E.Shri Piyush Srivastav, Indian ambassador to Bahrain as the Chief guest along with ILA Patron Mrs. Monika Srivastav. They both were delighted to meet the families of our members as well this time and thoroughly enjoyed the entertainment.
We began by presenting a beautiful handmade craft runner as a memento to mark our respect to the Chief guests. The night was lit with a welcome dance parade by Bahraini traditional songs and parade through the gathering and later performances depicting the traditional Ramadan songs of Bahrain showcasing rituals of crushing wheat and sunflower seeds by women in preparation for Ramadan. On behalf of ILA, one of the sponsors of the event Mr. Mansoor Mohammed from the Saara group presented a token of appreciation to the widowed and divorced Bahraini women performers. Next, was an interesting Arabic Challenge taken up by our ILA Members Mrs. Nisha Rangarajan and Mrs. Sheetal Shah along with other guests. This was followed by a beautiful and graceful dance by our new member Mrs. Sheetal Shah, who took us to the Mughal Era of India. Our energetic MCs for the night Mrs. Meenakshi Sharma and Mrs. Kiran Mangle entertained the guests throughout with interesting and fun trivia about Ramadan and Bahrain. The Visual and Audio Quiz tickled the grey cells of all age groups and the excitement was evident in the air! Then followed a cozy moment with April B’day babies of ILA with cake cutting. To wrap up the fun we invited contestants from the crowd for the Best dressed prizes. Congratulations to all the winners! We are grateful for the Prizes sponsored graciously by Showshaa Restaurant, Joz Salon, Belle Royale, and Nasser Pharmacy.
